Service Coordination

Service coordination (2).jpg

A Service Coordinator in an Early Intervention agency plays a vital role in supporting families of children with developmental delays or disabilities. Their primary responsibility is to act as a support for families and a liaison between the families and the services available to them, facilitating communication among all parties involved, including therapists, educators, and medical professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to the child’s care and development. The service coordinator will be there to answer questions and help navigate the often complex Early Intervention system. They will educate parents and caregivers about their child’s rights and the services available to them.

The Service coordinator ensures that they have access to the resources they need for their child’s development.

They advocate for the child and family, ensuring they receive the appropriate services and support tailored to their individual needs. Service Coordinators regularly check in with families and service providers to monitor the child’s progress and make adjustments to the IFSP as needed.

Service Coordinators serve as a crucial support system for families, helping them access services and navigate the early intervention process effectively. Their work helps ensure that children receive the support they need to thrive.
